Your first import, step by step

You need desktop Chrome and an X account signed in in that browser. The extension handles the scrolling. Try it for free, including AI topics.

1. Create your library

Create an account or sign in. Open the verification email and confirm your address before connecting the extension.

2. Install in Chrome

Download the Chrome extension, version 1.4.0. Extract the ZIP into a folder you will keep.

Open chrome://extensions, turn on Developer mode, click Load unpacked, and select that extracted folder. Pin Likes Library using Chrome’s puzzle-piece menu.

3. Connect once

Sign in at x.com and leave that tab open. Open Likes Library from Chrome’s toolbar. The website address is already filled in when you download from this site. Click Connect and allow access when Chrome asks.

The website opens with a matching code. Click Approve connection, then return to the extension. It detects your signed-in X handle and display name automatically. If no account appears, click Use my signed-in X account.

4. Click Import my likes

The extension opens your Likes page and starts collecting. Keep the import tab visible while it runs. You can close the popup. Switching tabs pauses collection; returning to the import tab resumes it. A progress panel on X and saved and queued counts in the extension show progress; posts and topics appear on the website automatically.

When your free import pauses, choose Subscription in website Settings to continue for $9/month or $90/year. The extension keeps queued posts and uploads them after Stripe confirms payment, usually within 30 seconds while Chrome is open. Return to the import tab to continue collecting.

Already installed? Update your copy

Download version 1.4.0 above. Replace the files in the folder you originally loaded, then click Reload on its card at chrome://extensions. Confirm that its version is 1.4.0. Then click Import my likes (or Open / resume import). The extension refreshes an older import tab automatically. Updating the website does not replace an unpacked extension already installed in Chrome.

My handle wasn’t detected

Open x.com in the same Chrome profile, sign in, and reopen the extension. Allow access to X when prompted. Under Account and capture settings, you can still enter a handle manually if X’s page layout prevents detection.

The import paused or X stopped loading

Keep the X import tab visible. Temporary loading interruptions are retried automatically. Click Open / resume import to bring a waiting run forward. If you close the tab, click Import my likes again. After Chrome restarts, open the import tab to resume. Posts already saved are merged, so restarting does not create duplicates. Check the extension for a free-limit, sign-in, or upload error message.

Manual scrolling works, but automatic scrolling does not

Check that the extension popup shows version 1.4.0. If not, replace the installed files with the current download and reload the extension. Click Open / resume import and keep the X import tab visible. Close any visible modal dialog on X; ordinary side panels and hidden dialogs no longer pause scrolling. The importer checks actual timeline movement and retries loading. If it still stops, open Import diagnostics in the extension and click Copy diagnostics. The report includes the stop reason, scrolling status, and counts without account details or post text.

My import needs a subscription

Choose Subscription in website Settings to continue importing. Your saved library stays available, and queued posts are kept for when your subscription is active. Import diagnostics distinguishes a subscription pause from a scrolling or loading problem.

Full text and older history

The extension expands text directly in the timeline when possible. Remaining shortened posts are checked in one reusable background tab while X is waiting for more history or when your free import pauses. It reads as soon as the text is ready instead of opening and closing a tab for every post. Deleted or inaccessible text can remain unavailable. X may stop exposing older likes. A scan ending does not prove that every lifetime like was available. You can upload archive files in Settings to fill gaps.

Can I close Chrome?

Browser collection needs Chrome open. Once posts have uploaded, AI categorization continues on the server. When this site offers the optional Connect X integration, those server imports can also continue without Chrome.

Keeping new likes

While capture is enabled and your import allowance allows it, new likes observed in this browser are saved. Likes from mobile or another browser can be picked up by a later import.

Upload your own posts or an X archive

You can import likes and your own posts directly from an archive you request from X. No extension is needed.

  1. On X, open More → Settings and privacy → Your account → Download an archive of your data.
  2. Confirm your password and identity, then choose Request archive. X will notify you when it is ready; this can take a few days.
  3. Download the ZIP from X and extract it on your computer. Open the extracted data folder.
  4. For liked posts, select like.js (or the similarly named like files). For posts you wrote, select tweets.js or tweet.js. If X split the data into several files, select all the relevant parts.
  5. In My dashboard → Settings → Import & sync → Upload your X archive, choose those .js files. Upload the extracted files, not the whole ZIP. Likes Library JSON exports also work.

Repeated posts are merged, so you can safely select the same files again to resume. Archives may omit older likes, author details, or full text; importing can only save what X includes.
