Save your X likes with the Firefox extension

You need desktop Firefox 140 or later and an X account.

1. Create your library

Create an account or sign in. Confirm your email if prompted.

2. Install in Firefox

Download and install temporarily

Download the Firefox extension and extract the ZIP into a folder.

Open about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox, choose Load Temporary Add-on, and select manifest.json from that folder.

Temporary installations are removed when Firefox restarts. Load the add-on again from the same folder.

3. Connect once

Sign in at x.com and leave the tab open. Open Likes Library from Firefox’s extensions menu and click Connect my account. Allow access when asked.

Check that the website and extension show the same code, then click Approve connection.

4. Import your likes

Return to the extension and click Import my likes. Keep Firefox open and the X import tab visible while it runs. Your posts appear in your library automatically.

Need help?

Update the extension

Download version 1.5.2, replace the extracted files, and click Reload beside Likes Library in about:debugging.

My X account wasn’t found

Sign in to X in Firefox, then click Use my signed-in X account in the extension. You can also enter your handle under Account and capture settings.

The import paused

Click Open / resume import and keep the X tab visible. If you closed it, click Import my likes again. Saved posts won’t be duplicated.

If you reached the free limit, choose Subscription in Settings. View plans.

Some likes or text are missing

X may not make older or deleted posts available. An archive can help fill gaps. See the missing likes guide.

Upload an X archive instead

You can import likes and your own posts directly from an archive you request from X. No extension is needed.

  1. On X, open More → Settings and privacy → Your account → Download an archive of your data.
  2. Confirm your password and identity, then choose Request archive. X will notify you when it is ready; this can take a few days.
  3. Download the ZIP from X and extract it on your computer. Open the extracted data folder.
  4. For liked posts, select like.js (or the similarly named like files). For posts you wrote, select tweets.js or tweet.js. If X split the data into several files, select all the relevant parts.
  5. In My dashboard → Settings → Import & sync → Upload your X archive, choose those .js files. Upload the extracted files, not the whole ZIP. Likes Library JSON exports also work.

Repeated posts are merged, so you can safely select the same files again to resume. Archives may omit older likes, author details, or full text; importing can only save what X includes.
